Tonys Marine Service was established in 1992 by Tony Hodges after spending several year working for Coleraine Boat Yard, situated in the heart of Coleraine on the River Bann. Tony wanted to become self employed and purchased himself a premises just outside the town. It would be on this same site that Tonys Marine Service would stay until today after many years of success and development.

Tony started off working by himself in the same workshop and soon earned a good reputation and a large customer base. He employed another mechanic and business started to boom. In 2003 after 11 years of success Tony embarked on a new project with Invest NI to build a purpose built workshop facility on the site. The new facility was completed by Christmas containg a workshop capable of holding 4 boats, an engine re-build room, an office, a store and a staff area. The old workshop was also renovated and converted to a shop and office.

The new facilities boosted the workload and efficiency of Tonys Marine Service and business continued to grow. This also lead to setting up a new partner business with Nick Stewart, also from Coleraine, called Xtreme Boat Sales. This completed the services offered to customers so that all their boating needs could be fulfilled in the one place.
